Melbourne Fashion Week 2019

As you know, I am a wearer of many hats, lawyer, actor, blogger, model, part-time fashionista. When fashion week comes however, we ARRIVE. I think it is very important for women like me (women of colour, shape, diversity) to represent and be seen at these shows and on top of that, I love to represent brands that I believe in, and this year was no different.

I went 4 shows this year, including the opening and closing and a couple in between! I wore beautiful outfits from Torannce, Atoir and Leo & Lin, all of which showcased on the nights I wore them (so proud). The Australian brands that showed took my breath away on a number of occasions, I saw trends of bright colours, combinations of structured and flowing pieces, big billowy arms, and some 80s vibes too. What really stole the show for me was seeing people on the runway that were diverse in every nature, colour, ability, gender, age, height, size and the list just goes on. I believe this is the first year where I have seen diversity as a genuine inclusion as opposed to tokenism. I am hopeful for what’s to come! Well done MFW. Here are some of my looks. S x.
